Topographical Survey
Survey of natural & man-made features
Topographical survey captures the position and shape of natural and artificial features on the ground, presented in either hard-copy or digital form. The resulting topographical plan is used for design and planning purposes across development and infrastructure projects.
Methodology & standards
A network of control points (x, y, z) is first established over the area — by triangulation and trilateration, by traversing with EDM / total station, or using GNSS. Detail is then picked up by the tacheometric method with a total station, and the field data processed, after appropriate cartographic treatment, into a topographical plan in analogue or digital format.
